Harry Potter to be screened with a live orchestra at Edinburgh Castle

Sunday 14th July 2025 will see the second instalment of the Harry Potter movies brought to life on the big screen at the historic Edinburgh Castle. Visitors to the city and Harty Potter lovers alike will see their favourite wizard projected onto a 39 feet wide screen at the castle esplanade, one of the highest points in the city.

The screening will be accompanied by a live performance from the famed Royal Scottish National Orchestra who will play the full soundtrack of the movie. This will include beloved pieces such as The Flying Car, Knockturn Alley and Duelling the Basilisk.

This screening comes on the heels of 2024's showing of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone which saw thousands of people dressed as witches and wizards descend on the castle esplanade.

Tickets prices start at £44.65. Tickets are expected to run out very quickly with last year's screening being fully booked days beforehand. People are asked to purchase their tickets as soon as possible.
