Free Food Giveaways to move to bi-weekly

Following the success of the Free Food Giveaways, Autistic Girl announces they will be moving to every two weeks going forward.

The Free Food Giveaways launched to fame in February when Kat, a No.6 user and Autistic Girl founder, was accepted onto the platform Neighbourly. Neighbourly allows community groups to collect surplus food from supermarkets and distribute it to those in need in their community. Whilst the process of being accepted was very long and intense, the result proved invaluable as No.6 users started to receive huge amounts of surplus food every Friday.

The surplus food collected includes long life milk, bread, pasta, pasta sauces, rice, eggs, chocolate biscuits, toilet rolls. Irn Bru, tins of beans, soup and much more. Whilst most of the food comes from supermarkets including Aldi, Lidl and Sainsbury's, other items are donated by individuals including Kat and her family. Donations from others are very much welcome.

The next Free Food Giveaway will be on Friday May 2nd from 3-4pm at No.6 One Stop Shop, 22 Hill Street. Guests are encouraged to bring bags. Whilst some items will have limits on the number you can acquire, others will not. Any food leftover will be donated to a food bank.
